If you've ever driven over Forest Mountain, you know there are places where your phone simply stops working. No signal. No internet. No easy way to reach someone if you need help.
For those who live, work, or travel these roads, reliable connectivity isn't just a convenience—it's an important part of staying safe and connected.
That's why Siskiyou Telephone is proud to partner with the State of California on the Middle Mile Broadband Initiative. Together, we're constructing 163 miles of new fiber infrastructure across Western Siskiyou County, creating the backbone that will strengthen communications throughout our region.
The new middle-mile fiber network will help improve communications between Yreka, Fort Jones, Etna, Happy Camp, Somes Bar, and surrounding communities. As this critical infrastructure is completed, it will:
Strengthen communications along remote corridors like Forest Mountain.
Improve connectivity that supports emergency services and public safety.
Create a stronger foundation for future broadband expansion.
Help ensure our rural communities remain connected for generations to come.
This project is about more than laying fiber. It's about investing in the future of the communities we serve and helping ensure that whether you're at home, traveling between towns, or responding to an emergency, the infrastructure is in place to support reliable communication.
For more than 125 years, Siskiyou Telephone has been committed to connecting Western Siskiyou County. We're honored to partner with the State of California on a project that will strengthen the communities we proudly call home.
