Engineering Position
We are looking for a full-time Engineer to join our dynamic team here at Siskiyou Telephone!
Duties & Responsibilities:
Mapping and Data entry on work orders (staking, tracking & balancing all materials)
Laying out fiber & copper cable counts for the work orders
Providing cut sheets & splicing details to the crew
Inspecting the work on your jobs (installation of material & SWPPP)
Troubleshooting (cable pairs/lengths with CSR's, dispatch, & installers)
Measuring line extensions (meeting with customers to determine route & calculating the cost of the new service)
Obtaining right-of-ways & filing them with the county
Obtaining permits (County, Caltrans, USFS, Fish & Wildlife, BLM, and State Water Board)
Required to become a Notary Public
Obtaining your QSP Certification for stormwater control inspections (SWPPP)
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications & Education:
High school graduate or GED
Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass a drug test
Identify cable pair colors and match them to their corresponding numbers
Work in a team environment, independently or self-motivated
Work outdoors, year-round in a variety of weather conditions
Able to work overtime or weekends if needed
Able to lift 40 lbs.
Possess a minimal ability to read and understand system prints
Familiar with the basic operation of a computer and willing to learn different technologies
Telecommunications and construction background not required, but preferred
Structure & Pay:
Primary job position is that of an engineer
Company will provide necessary training
Full-time position covers western Siskiyou County
Company provided vehicle, tools and safety equipment

Pay: $30-$45 DOE (Depending On Experience)
